| Winamp 3Dfx Plugins v0.01, Release Date: 11pm, Nov 14 |
+---------------------------------------------------------+
|
| Welcome to a VERY VERY early release of my Winamp 3dfx plugin, v0.01b,
| No garantees this sucker won't crash or cause something weird to happen,
| There's only 2 plugins in this release, I expect the next release to have
| 5 or more.. This will be an on-going project..
|
| Only one person has beta tested it for me so far, so send me info pls..
|
+------> Anyways..

If anyone can offer me a decent web space to place my Plugin on, I'd be very
appreciative, I only need a few megs....

Requirements
------------

Minimum Processor: Unknown, P100+ I assume, inform me what kind of performance
you get and what kind of system you have.

Video Card: 3Dfx Voodoo Graphics..

Plugins
-------

Just slip the Wa3dfx.dll into your winamp dir, and Right-click on the
Spectrum/Oscilliscope portion of the Winamp window and configure the plugins.

1. 3D Oscilliscope, Sloping towards the center, 3 Rotating Dynamic Lights.

System Requirements are a little bit higher than #2, Wave intensity can be
 adjusted with the EQ's.

2. 3D Oscilliscope, Sloping towards the center, Fixed Height colors.

System Requirements are a lot less, Dynamic Light Calculation is not in this
 one.

Controls
--------

No controls yet, just [ESC] or [ALT-F4] to exit..

Optimized Performance
---------------------

I have the following:

Canopus Pure 3D
AMD K6-166
SB Awe32

I've found the most optimial configuration to be:

-> Set Plugin Priority to HIGH
-> Make sure output device is set to your sound card, and not the Wave Mapper.
^--- Dunno if this helps, someone tell me..
-> Under the Buffer menu, enable "Buffer All MPx to Disk"
^--- Disk access interrupts my Pure3d, This stops those annoying little pauses.
-> Turn off EQ's if they really aren't nessecary.

With these options, it looks like super-high speed Liquid on my system, if you're getting
shabby performance, look around your computer, see what's loaded, if you have a GUS Max
or Classic, then there's likely no chance of stopping the little pauses & Static I
incurred on the GUS Max on my P150.. :-P

Inform me of what system you have, and how it works for you, and what Winamp settings
produce the best effect.. Thanks..

Known Problems
--------------

- DownMix produces a strange line of triangles in the back row,
- Pure3D's TV output won't turn on unless you have the Desktop Enabled.
- Very rare fullbright pixels sticking up where they don't belong.

I'm in Grade 12 at Gananoque Secondary School in local town Gananoque, You may
have recognized my name from the Pure3d contest (Canopus, you ROCK!), I hang out
in the #mp3rave, #coders, #quake, #qoole, #3dfx, and #sora channels on EFNET, my
nickname is (usually) [Prince], This means 'Prince Of Darkness' I'm not a Prince
addict like most think :)

This is my first Non-Console Glide application I've written for Windows in VC++

I'm going to try and update this program, and add more plugins as often as possible,
my motivation is, that I need something entertaining to do while listening to
these CPU draining hours worth of techno mp3s...

I reccommend the Sennheiser HD-455 (Expression Series) Headphones for amazing
sound quality, and VERY LIGHT headphones, (/w replaceable cord, good thing too
at $100 a set)

I also reccommend the Sony MDR-V200 and greater series of headphones, they
produce Excelent BASS and clear treble instruments (__Maad__ introduced me to these)..

Questions/Comments/Suggestions are always welcome..
