Overview
========
This printer driver allows you to print documents from any Windows 95
application to your Canon LBP-1260 PLUS printer using Hewlett-Packard's
PCL5e data format. If your printer is equipped with the optoinal duplex
unit, lower feeder or envelope feeder, this driver also allows you to
access those devices.

System Requirements
===================
The Canon LBP-1260 PLUS PCL5e Printer Driver does not require any additional
system configuration beyond those required to run Windows 95. However, at
least one of the following output ports is required:

 - parallel printer port (LPT1, LPT2, etc.)
 - serial data port (COM1, COM2, etc.)
 - network interface

If you are using a parallel printer port, you can also use the printer utility
software to get change the printer's settings and get the printer's status
directly from your computer system.

floppy disk drive (such as "B:") and then click on the "OK" button.

LBP-1260 PLUS printer driver. You can also use the Windows 95 "What's This?"

about that item and its operation. Alternatively, you can click on the
question-mark (?) symbol in the upper right corner of each dialog box, and
then click on any item to display help for that item. In addition, a brief
one-line message appears near the bottom of each tab to display information
about each group of selections as you move your mouse cursor over them.

Cautions, Limitations and Restrictions
======================================
1. If you have problems with printing some TrueType fonts, you should select
the "Download as Bit Image" or "Print as Graphics" items from the TrueType
section of the Options category in the Printer Setup dialog box.

2. If you have problems with printing some graphic objects in HP-GL/2 mode,
you should select the "Raster" item from the Graphics Quality section of
the Options category in the Printer Setup dialog box.

3. When you want to print multiple copies of a document, you should use the
"Number of Copies" selection in the application's print dialog box. If
the application does not provide a selection for multiple copies, you can
set the number of copies in the General Dialog Box of the driver. You
should never use both settings at the same time, since the actual number
of printed copies will be unpredicatable and will vary from one application
to another. When printing envelopes, some applications only print a single
envelope, regardless of how many copies you specify. You should experiment
with different selections to determine how each application behaves with
multiple copies. You should also refer your application's User Guide to
   determine the recommended methods.

4) You can only create a Macro from a one-page document. A problem exists
with macro creation from the Paintbrush application, since it processes two
   pages.

5) A Macro file is not created when the document is empty.

6) You should select "Raster" mode when creating a Macro file.

7) Some applications (such as Word, WordPerfect and PageMaker) require you to
specify the page layout in the application, as well as in the driver. To
ensure good printing results, be sure to specify the correct page layout
   information in both locations.

8) Some applications (such as PageMaker) do not correctly recognize changes
made to the driver settings when the those changes are made while the
application is running. For such applications, be sure to setup the driver
   before you launch the application.

9) If you get a Print Overrun or Memory Overflow when you attempt to print a
complex document, you should select a resolution of 300 dpi, select Page
Protection mode, or add more memory to your printer.

10) If you are using the optional Envelope Feeder unit, you must select the
Envelope Feeder unit and the desired envelope size using the control panel
of the printer, then select the Envelope Feeder as the paper source and the
same envelope size in the driver.

11) If you are using the "Find File" option of some Microsoft applications
to print multiple files, you may need to disable the Background Printing
feature to avoid some application problems.
