   Windows XP

   Introduction:
   -------------
   This document describes the procedure to install Windows XP
   driver for Realtek RTL8169 PCI Gigabit Ethernet adapter.

   Location of Driver :   \WinXP\RT8169N5.SYS

   Installing driver procedure on Microsoft WinXP :
   -------------------------------------------------------------------
      Before you start with the installation process, make sure that your
      adapter should be properly installed in your PCI bus slot.
      Executing WinXP, it will auto-detect your system configuration
      and find the adapter hardware.  

      1. When Windows XP prompts with "PCI Ethernet Controller" in
         "New Hardware Found" dialog box, click the "Next" button.

      2. Select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)"
         form the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click the
         "Next" button.

      3. Insert the Realtek RTL8169 driver disk into drive A and specify
         the setup file pathname A:\WinXP, then click the "Next" button. 

      4. Windows XP will prompt with "Realtek RTL8169 Gigabit Ethernet
         Adapter" in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.

      5. Click the "Next" button in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog
         box,then Windows XP will copy the driver(.sys) from A:\WinXP
         to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and the driver(.inf) from
         A:\WinXP to the C:\WINDOWS\INF directory.

      6. When Windows prompts with "Realtek RTL8169 Gigabit Ethernet
         Adapter" in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, click
         the "Finish" button.

      7. WinXP will finish the other installation procedure
         automatically, then you restart the system.
