Note: Before you update the Beta drivers, first
      install the latest SB Live! Web update program from
      http://www.sblive.com

The Beta drivers can be used only on Windows 95/98.

1) Procedure to install the Beta drivers
   =====================================

1.1 Unzip the SEP_BETA.ZIP file into a directory,
    for example C:\TEMP\BETA
1.2 Shut down your PC to DOS mode.
1.3 Create a backup copy of the following files
    (found in the Windows \SYSTEM directory) and
    copy them to a floppy disk.
    a) emu10k1.vxd
    b) sblfx.dll
1.4 Replace these two files in the Windows
    \SYSTEM directory with the Beta files that you 
    have unzipped.
    a) emu10k1.vxd   version: 4.05.1029Beta.
    b) sblfx.dll     version: 4.05.1014Beta.

1.5 Restart your PC.

2) Feature included in this Beta drivers update
   ============================================

2.1 32 Accelerated 3D Voices: This will extend Sound 
    Blaster Live! or Sound Blaster Live! Value hardware 
    acceleration support from the existing 8 to 32 
    DirectSound3D streams.

3) How to remove the Beta drivers
   ==============================

3.1 Shut down your PC to DOS mode.
3.2 Overwrite the Beta drivers in your Windows \SYSTEM
    directory (emu10k1.vxd and sblfx.dll) with the 
    original drivers from your backup floppy disk.
3.3 Restart your system.

Alternatively, you can run the latest SB Live! web 
update program which can be downloaded from 
http://www.sblive.com. This will remove the beta drivers
and update your system with the latest drivers.  


4. How to report bugs found after installing the Beta drivers 
   ===========================================================

4.1 Fill up the questionnaire (quesbeta.txt) found in the directory 
    where you have unzipped the Beta files.

4.2 Attach the completed quesbeta.txt file and mail to beta@sblive.com
