A Windows 3.1 based Resource Configuration Utility was bundled in {\DRIVERS}
under Win3.1 environment for reconfiguration of the I/O base addresses, IRQs
and DMAs of the various devices on the Audio Controller. It can be used to
setup the resources for the:

1. Windows Sound Codec
2. SoundBlaster codec
3. MPU-401 driver
4. Gameport/Joystick driver
5. OPL3 (FM) synthesizer

These resources, except for the IDE CD-ROM controller, can also be setup
through the driver SETUP utility from the CONTROL PANEL|DRIVER configuration
panel. The driver SETUP utility allows in addition the configuration of:

1. 3D sound
2. I2S input formats **(not used in SC16-3D series of products)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. R e s o u r c e   C o n f i g u r a t i o n   U n d e r   D O S

Included with this relaese is a simple, but functional DOS resource
configuration manager, called DOSCFG.EXE, for the sound codec, the
gameport/joystick, the FM synthesizer, the midi port and the IDE controller.
DOSCFG.EXE is installed by SETUP.EXE in its default sound card software
directory (if you did not change it at installation).

DOSCFG.EXE is the equivalent of the MS-Windows3.1x RESOURCE CONFIGURATION

*** IMPORTANT: ***

Under Win3.1x
=============
Playing DOS games in an MS-Win3.1x DOS box can sometimes be problematic.
To get around this, follow the instructions below:

1. Exit from MS-Win3.1x
3. Invoke MIXER.BAT to set volume levels appropriately
4. Run the DOS game.

Under Windows 95
================
In general, playing DOS games in Win95 Real Mode DOS or restart Windows
in MS-DOS mode will faced Sound Card not detected or no sound problems.
This are either due to the system BIOS unable to handle the device or
there isn't any PnP Manager available in Win95 Real Mode DOS or MS-DOS
modes to configure the sound card properly.

A DOS PnP Manager utility was included with this product to address the
problem in playing DOS games under Real Mode DOS. To install this DOS PnP
Manager, double click on the "Install DOS PnP Mgr" icon which can be found
in the SC16-3D program group after completed the software installation via
the SETUP.EXE installer from the Installation Disk if your system PnP BIOS
was unable to configure the sound card under the Win95 Real mode MS-DOS.

Note :
a). Installing this PnP Manager on system where its system BIOS is capable
    of configuring the sound card devices may experience system unstable and
    hanging problems.

b). DOS PnP Manager will configure the sound card to work in the Real Mode
    DOS based on the current assigned settings used in Windows 95. If these
    Audio Device settings used are differ from the recommended range of SB
    compatible settings. The result is therefore, no sound heard in playing
    DOS games (games usually work within a specific range of I/O address,IRQ
    and DMA).

    The work around is to reconfigure the current Audio settings in "Audio
    Device (AZT1022)" entry in "Sound, video and game controller settings"
    section under <Device Manager> to used within the compatible range as
    stated below.

    The following settings under the <Resource> tab in "Audio Device (AZT1022)"
    represent the SB compatible settings used in Real Mode DOS. These settings
    may vary accordingly on different systems.

   --->Input/Output Range     0220 - 022F     ** SB campatible I/O Address **
       Input/Output Range     0388 - 038F
       Input/Output Range     0534 - 0537
   --->Interrupt              05              ** SB compatible IRQ **
   --->Direct Memory Access   01              ** SB comaptible DMA **
       Direct Memory Access   03
