CGP Graphite Terminator Series Display List Driver 4.2 for AutoCAD Release 12 ========================================================================= **************************** * Installation Procedure * **************************** File Copying ------------ Copy all the files from the floppy into your AutoCAD directory. Assuming the files are in A:\ADI42, and AutoCAD has been installed in C:\ACAD12, type: COPY A:\ADI42\*.EXP C:\ACAD12\DRV COPY A:\ADI42\*.LGO C:\ACAD12\DRV COPY A:\ADI42\*.FNT C:\ACAD12\DRV You may want to back up your own font files (*.FNT) first. Configuration ------------- 1) Invoke the AutoCAD Configuration menu (use the -r command line option, or select File/Configure while in AutoCAD). 2) Select option 3 -- "Configure video display". 3) Type Y [Enter] to select a new video display driver. Select "S3 ADI 4.2 Display/Rendering ..." from the list. 4) Now you are in the Options menu of the display driver. Select option 1 to choose a display mode (resolution and color depth). 5) Select other options as desired. 6) Select option 0 to exit. 7) Now you are back to the AutoCAD configuration. Finish up the remianing questions. To select a different display mode, repeat all the steps above, except type N in Step 3. ********************************* * Setting up the refresh rate * ********************************* You'll be using SETCRT.EXE, which is located on the "CGP Graphite Terminator Installation Diskette," or, if you've installed the software, in the \CGP directory on your hard disk. Assuming you've installed the Graphite Terminator software on your hard drive using the default configuration, type the following line at the DOS prompt: C:\ CGP \SETCRT.EXE -N r1 r2 r3 r4 r5 r6 where r1 = the refresh rate parameter for 640x480 r2 = the refresh rate parameter for 800x600 r3 = the refresh rate parameter for 1024x768 r4 = the refresh rate parameter for 1152x864 r5 = the refresh rate parameter for 1280x1024 r6 = the refresh rate parameter for 1600x1200 Please refer to your Graphite Terminator Installation Guide for complete instructions for using SETCRT, including a table showing possible options for each resolution. In general, the refresh rates for the AutoCAD modes are limited to 75Hz or below. NOTE: Do not select a refresh rate higher than your monitor can support or you may permanently damage your monitor. If you are unsure of your monitor's capabilities, please refer to the documentation that came with your monitor or contact the manufacturer for further assistance.
