Dear Imation SuperDisk Parallel Port Drive User: --------------------------------------------------------------------- Helpful Hints When Running Imation's Performance Accelerator (PA) for Windows 95 Explorer Copy vs. Move When using Explorer to transfer files to the SuperDisk drive it is STRONGLY recommended that files be copied rather than moved. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Known Issues with Imation's Performance Accelerator for Windows 95. Drive Letter Assignments The drive letter for the SuperDisk drive which is detected and shown during installation of the Performance Accelerator software must not be changed or the software will not operate correctly. If you want to change your drive letter: un-install the SuperDisk Accelerator, change the drive letter, and then re-install the Performance Accelerator software. User Profiles If User Profiles are enabled on your machine, the Performance Accelerator software will only run for the profile in which it was installed. In order to run the Performance Accelerator software on other Profiles, please do the following for each Profile: From the directory C:\PROGRAM FILES\IMATION\PA, copy the file SD120ACCELERATOR.EXE to the StartUp folder. You can open the StartUp folder by right clicking on the Start Menu and selecting Open. Open the Programs folder. The StartUp folder will now be visible. Media Full Message If you are trying to write files to the SuperDisk drive which exceed the diskette's remaining capacity, you will be prompted to "insert a new disk to continue". You will not be able to eject the disk until all the files have been flushed from the hard drive which have not been written to the SuperDisk diskette. Laptop Users Do not "suspend" your computer until all files have been written to the SuperDisk drive. Suspending the computer before files are flushed will result in lost files. Compressed Media If you are copying files to a compressed SuperDisk diskette which exceeds the diskette's remaining uncompressed capacity, it is recommended that you disable staging and write the files directly to the diskette. This will avoid media full messages. You can do this by right clicking on the Super Disk icon in the System Tray and selecting Staging Disabled. Conflict With Tape-It Software If you have Tape-It software version 1.22A or earlier installed on your computer system, please do not install the Performance Accelerator software. Contact Imation technical support (see Installation Guide for Imation contact information) for an updated version of Tape-It software.
