The driver has been tested with Microsoft LAN Manager, 3Com 3+Open, IBM LAN Server, IBM PC LAN Program, DEC Pathworks, and other NDIS-compatible network operating systems and protocol stacks. * The PROTOCOL.INI file contains configuration information. ============================================================================= FILES PROVIDED ============================================================================= * L100.NIF Network installation file * L100.OS2 NDIS2 OS/2 driver * PROTOCOL.INI Driver binding information and operational parameters ============================================================================= DEVICE DRIVER INSTALLATION GUIDE ============================================================================= 1. Insert the IBM LAN Adapter Protocol Support (LAPS) v1.00 diskette into your computer floppy drive. 2. Change directory to IBMCOM\. 3. Type LAPS and press [Enter]. The IBM logo appears. 4. Click on the INSTALL button. 5. Specify the target drive (typically C:\) and press [Enter] or select OK. The files are copied to the target drive 6. Select OK. 7. Select the INSTALL button a second time to load the drivers 8. Press [Enter]. 9. Place the ConfigDisk in drive a:. 10. Change the "Install Additional Network Driver" panel to "a:\NDIS\OS2" and select OK. 11. Press OK for each driver. 12. Select the Configure button. 13. Select "Configure LAN transports". 14. Select Continue. The Configure Workstation screen appears. 15. In the Network Adapters window, select "Siemens OfficeLAN PCI 10/100 TX Fast Ethernet Adapter". 16. Select the Add button. This adapter name appears in the Current Configuration window. 17. If you want to enable "RIPL" features, select "IBM IEEE 802.2" from the Protocols window, then select the Add button. 18. Select "IBM OS/2 NETBIOS", then select the Add button. (You also may need to select the "IBM NetWare Requester" option, then the Add button, depending on your network.) Each time you select the Add button, the selected option appears in the Current Configuration window below the chosen driver. 19. Select OK. 20. Select Exit. The CONFIG.SYS Update screen appears. 21. Specify the drive for the CONFIG.SYS file. 22. Select the Continue button. 23. Select OK. 24. Select Exit. 25. Reboot your computer. Use the OS/2 Shutdown process to exit from the program. 26. Reboot your computer again. Enter OS/2, and insert the OS/2 Requester Install diskette into your computer floppy drive (usually drive a:). 27. At the OS/2 prompt, type: LANINST. 28. Press [Enter]. 29. Select OK at the IBM logo. 30. Select OK again. 31. Select the "Advanced" option. The Installation Tasks panel appears. 32. Select "Install or Configure this workstation", then select OK. 33. Select "Install or remove a component", then select OK. 34. Select all the other components you want to install. * Use the arrow keys to choose each component * Press the space bar to highlight it. * Select the Install button and the word "Installed" appears in the Status column. * After you select all the components for this installation, select the OK button. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * NOTE: Some components display "Install" next to them. We recommend you select these components for installation along with the other components you want to install. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 35. Select "Configure a component", then select OK. 36. Select a component to configure from the list, then select the Configure button (the default component is "Requester"). 37. Specify the requester name and the domain name for that component, then select OK. 38. If you want the server to start automatically when one of its workstations is started, select YES. 39. Select one of the following requester services, then select OK: Messenger Message pop-up The Configure screen appears again. 40. Select OK. At "Apply the Changes", select OK and insert the appropriate diskettes as required. 41. Select OK at the file backup panel. 42. Select "Configuration complete". 42. Select the LAN adapter to which this configuration applies. If only one adapter is installed in this computer, select "Adapter 0", then select OK. 43. Select OK when the Configure screen appears. 44. Select the "Apply the changes" option, then select OK. 45.
