On top of this, RLASET also checks whether the PnP BIOS of the PC is functioning correctly. Depending on the type of motherboard and its configuration, RLASET will automatically configure the card as follows:- PC without PnP BIOS -- RL2000A-PNP will be configured to Non-PnP mode. The IO base address and IRQ setting saved are a set of free settings selected during the configuration process. PC with PnP BIOS -- RL2000A-PNP will be configured to PnP mode. PC with PnP BIOS but with } -- Will be configured the same way as incomplete PnP functions } PC without PnP BIOS. If you answer YES to "Install for Windows 95" then RL2000A-PNP will be configure to PnP mode. Manual Configuration ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Selecting the Manual Option lets you manually configure RL2000A-PNP with specific setup to suit your requirement. The Manual Option menu, provides the following options described below. 1) VIEW CURRENT CONFIGURATION ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Use this option to view the current configuration of the card User can view the Operating Mode, Ethernet Address, Cable Type, I/O Address, IRQ, Boot ROM Address of the adpater. 2) CUSTOM SETUP ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Use this option to manually change the hardware settings. In the option, user can change the Operation Mode, Cable Tyep, I/O Base Address, IRQ, etc. - Plug & Play Mode For the system with Plug & Play support, for example Plug & Play BIOS, Plug & Play Operation System, etc. The Plug & Play system can allocate system resources without intervention of user. - Non Plug & Play Mode For the system without Plug & Play support, the user require to manually configure the card's parameter, e.g I/O address, IRQ no ,etc. - AutoDetect Mode (For RL2000A Card only) If choose AutoDetect Mode, the card can automatically detect whether the system can support Plug & Play function or not, if support, the card will run in Plug & Play Mode, otherwise, the card will run in Non Plug & Play Mode. The adapter can support the automatically detection of cable used. For Non Plug & Play mode, it is required to configure the I/O base address of the adapter. The avaliable choices of I/O base address as follows: 200H, 220H, 240H, 260H, 280H, 2A0H, 2C0H, 2E0H, 200H, 320H, 340H, 360H, 380H, 3A0H, 3C0H, 3E0H. The avaliable choices of interrupt number as follows: 3, 4, 5, 2, 10, 11, 12, 15 This option can configure the remote BOOT ROM size and address as follows: SIZE: 16K, 32K and 64K ADDRESS: C000H - DE000H 3) DEFAULT SETUP ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Use this option to change the current hardware settings to default settings and rebuilt the PnP resourcce table. Default settings shown as follows: Operation Mode : AutoDetect Mode (For RL2000A Card only) Cable Type : Auto Detect I/O Base : 280H Interrupt : 10 Boot ROM : Disabled 4) RUN DIAGNOSTIC ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Run the diagnostic if you suspect a problem with the adapter. The diagnostic is consists of three tests: A) Diagnostic On Board Test - Test the on board function of the adapter. B) Diagnostic On Network Test The test requires at least two machines running RLASET program. One machine work as initator and the other machine works as respondor. The test simulates the real network environment. And the result and statistics of the test will display on the monitor.
