The files in this disk are the same files found in NetWare v4.02 installation disk. RPL.NLM v4.10 size:6,269 date:02-04-94 RBOOT.RPL size:7,587 date:12-28-93 Novell has made some changes in the new release RPL boot code such that when a diskless station installed with bootrom using earlier RPL boot code booting from a NetWare v4.10 server can hang up. The message " Non-system Disk or Disk error" will display before it hung up. However, if the diskless station is installed with a floppy controller it will boots normally. The solution is to use a new bootrom with the latest RPL boot code. Alternatively, the workaround to the problem is to replace the RPL.NLM and RBOOT.RPL files from NetWare v4.02. Instructions on workaround is described below. 1) Backup files RPL.NLM in SYSTEM directory and RBOOT.RPL in LOGIN directory of NetWare v4.10 server. 2) Copy RPL.NLM from this disk to SYSTEM directory and RBOOT.RPL to the LOGIN directory of NetWare v4.10 server. 3) Unload any RPL.NLM file and reload and bind this RPL.NLM file to the LAN adapter. 4) Run RPLFIX to all the remote bootable image files. e.g. F:\LOGIN\RPLFIX NET$DOS.SYS 5) Workaround completes. == 18th Aug 95 ==
