Without this loader patch some PCI drivers may fail." FreedomLINE 100TX/10base PCI adapter does not require the loader patch. You can still apply the loader. In doing so, the above message will be supressed. This patch is provided in this disk. See readme files in the PATCH subdirectory on how to run the patch. 4) NetWare 4.10/4.11 enviroment อออออออออออออออออออออออออออออ Notes: ====== The MSM.NLM and ETHERTSM.NLM files that come with Novell Netware may not be the latest update NLMs to work properly with this LAN driver. When these NLMs were load from NetWare SYS:SYSTEM directory they can cause failure loading the FLPCI.LAN. To ensure that the correct NLMs loaded, users should copy the following files:- MSM.NLM, ETHERTSM.NLM, NBI.NLM, and FLPCI.LAN supplied in this diskette to the NetWare boot directory in local hard disk C:\NWSERVER. Then follow the steps as described below to load the NLMs and LAN driver. 1. Insert the driver disk in drive A and run PCICNAP. Select Install "Novell NetWare Driver" Select "Install NetWare v4.x Server Driver" Select the destination path to C:\NWSERVER Select OK to start extracting the following files. FLPCI.LAN, ETHERTSM.NLM, MSM.NLM, and NBI.NLM 2. Startup the NetWare server by runnng, SERVER.EXE. 3. At the NetWare prompt, run INSTALL.NLM by typing: : LOAD INSTALL 4. By default, press to select "Driver Options". 5. A "Driver Option" menu box will appear. Select "Configure network drivers" option and then press key. 6. In the "Additional Driver Actions" box, choose "Select a driver" option. Press to load a LAN driver not listed. 7. Press to specify the directory path of the LAN driver and press : e.g. C:\NWSERVER <ฤฤู Enter "Compex FreedomLINE 100TX/10base PCI Fast Ethernet Driver" will be displayed. Press to select the driver listed. 8. Copy FLPCI.LAN, FLPCI.LDI, MSM.NLM, ETHERTSM.NLM and NBI.NLM into the system directory. 9. A driver configuration option screen will be displayed. Select the appropriate options. To select the frame type you want to use, highlight "FLPCI_1 Protocols" box and press . Mark the frame type that you want to use and press to save the settings. 10. After selecting the parameters, choose the "Save parameters and load driver" option to load the LAN driver. Press to use a given network number to bind ipx to the server driver. 11. Press ESC to save and exit from the installation. 5) Netware 4.0x environment ออออออออออออออออออออออออ 1. Insert the driver disk in drive A and run PCICNAP. Use the these newer files instead of from the driver disk. 8. A driver configuration options screen will be displayed. Select the appropriate options. 9. Press to load the LAN driver. Press to use a given network number to bind ipx to the server driver. If you do not want to load all the frame types, press F3, from Frame Type mark only the frames you want to load. Press ESC to save and exit from the installation. 6) Parameters ออออออออออ The following parameters belong on the server's command line, or in the load line inside the AUTOEXEC.NCF. The general way of using these parameters is: LOAD ... Example: LOAD FLPCI TURBO SLOT=10001 FRAME=Ethernet_802.3 Driver specific parameters list (as for NetWare standard parameters, please see the NetWare user's manual): TP selects TP port. (*) AUTODETECT enables autodetection of media type when driver is loading. Note that this ONLY! works at initialization time, i.e. when the driver first loads for a specific network card. TP_NO_LINK_TEST selects twisted pair connection, but disables the LINK test for specific HUBs that do not support LINK. TP_FULL_DUPLEX selects twisted pair connection to work in full duplex mode. TURBO Fixes the problem of multiple transmit underflows and receive overflows (i.e. lose of packets) in systems that use certain PCI chipsets. SKIP_CHECK_BIOS Skip checking compatibility of PCI BIOS LINE_SPEED selects line speed between 10MPBs and 100MBPs on network cards based on 100TX cards. Format: LINE_SPEED= 100 or 10
