Select the appropriate options. CABLE: This parameter enables you to select the CABLE type. It is UNNECESSARY to specify the PORT or INT parameters because the server driver will AUTOMATICALLY read the hardware settings from the network adapter. However, should you wish to CHANGE the hardware configuration, then you may select your PORT and INT values. 9. Press to load the LAN driver. NOTE: Upon loading EN2NW4.LAN, two other modules will be loaded automatically: MSM.NLM and ETHERTSM.NLM. 10. Bind IPX to the server driver by typing: : BIND IPX EN2NW4 (2) COMMAND LINE OPTIONS If you choose to load the server driver from the command line instead of from the INSTALL.NLM program, then you may need to specify command line options. Apart from the standard command line options of PORT, INT, FRAME, etc, the server driver also provides an additional command line options. CABLE Valid cable types are : (1) BNC (Thin Ethernet) (2) TPI (Twisted-pair) This option is used to change the cable type of your network adapter. If the cable type unspecified, the preset cable type on your adapter is effective. You may specify the cable type you require when loading the server driver, for example: : LOAD EN2NW4 CABLE=BNC NOTE for EN2000N-Combo3: To use the AUI port, jumper pins J3 and J4 MUST be shorted by a jumper and at the same time the adapter card must be programmed to BNC mode (either via the Easyset program or command line : LOAD EN2NW4 CABLE=BNC). (3) INSTALLING MULTIPLE ADAPTERS The following steps describe the method of installing two network adapters: 1. Make sure that the hardware settings of the two EN2000N network adapters do not conflict. Suggestion: Run EasySet utility to view the I/O base address and interrupt level of the first network adapter. Replace with the second network adapter. Run EasySet utility to change the hardware settings of the second network adapter so that they do not conflict with the first network adapter's. Save the configuration. Now, you can install both network adapters in your system. 2. Run SERVER.EXE. 3. At the NetWare v4.xx's prompt, type: : LOAD EN2NW4 If the I/O port of the two adapters are 300h and 320h, then your screen will display the following messages when you load the server driver. Loading module EN2NW4.LAN Supported I/O port values are : 300, 320 I/O port : 300 The I/O ports of the two adapters are AUTOMATICALLY detected by the server driver. 4. To load the server driver again, type : LOAD EN2NW4 The screen will display the following messages: Do you want to add another frame type for a previously loaded board? Loading module EN2NW4.LAN Supported I/O port values are : 320 I/O port : 320 Previously loaded module was used re-entrantly. 5. Bind IPX to both network adapters.
