This server driver defaults to the 802.2 frame type. The 802.3 frame type may also be loaded for this driver to allow 802.3 frame type workstations to login. The required NLMs must be loaded on the server. The required NLMs are: NetWare v3.12 Servers --------------------- MSM.NLM ETHERTSM.NLM EN2NW4.LAN NetWare v3.12 Servers ===================== The server driver requires the ETHERTSM to be loaded. Therefore, the server driver can be loaded by following the list shown previously. If the required NLMs are in a search path (such as SYS:SYSTEM), only the following NLMs need to be loaded. EN2NW4.LAN The EN2NW4 will auto-load the ETHERTSM. The ETHERTSM will attempt to auto-load the MSM. If there were no errors while auto-loading (besides the MSM.NLM), the server driver will finish loading. Otherwise, ensure all required NLMs are in a search path and try again, or load them individually as shown in the list of required NLMs. INSTALLATION GUIDE ==================== Below are guidelines for installing the server driver, EN2NW4.LAN, in a NetWare v3.12 environment. 1. Install Novell NetWare v3.12 operating system into your server station hard disk. 2. Copy the server driver, EN2NW4.LAN, from the driver diskette into the NetWare v3.12 server station hard disk. For example, type C:\SERVER.312> COPY A:\NW3.12\EN2NW4.LAN 3. Run SERVER.EXE on the NetWare v3.12 server station. 4. At the NetWare 386 prompt, type: : LOAD C:MSM : LOAD C:ETHERTSM : LOAD C:EN2NW4 5. Bind IPX to the server driver by typing: : BIND IPX EN2NW4 (2) COMMAND LINE OPTIONS Apart from the standard command line options of PORT, INT, FRAME, etc, the server driver also provides an additional command line options. CABLE Valid cable types are: (1) BNC (Thin Ethernet) (2) TPI (Twisted-pair) This option is used to change the cable type of your network adapter. If the cable type is not specified, the preset cable type on your adapter is effective. You may specify the cable type when loading the server driver, for example: : LOAD EN2NW4 CABLE=BNC NOTE for EN2000N-Combo3: To use the AUI port, jumper pins J3 and J4 MUST be shorted by a jumper and at the same time the adapter must be programmed to BNC mode (either via the Easyset program or command line : LOAD EN2NW3 CABLE=BNC). (3) INSTALLING MULTIPLE ADAPTERS The following steps describe the method of installing two network adapters: 1. Make sure that the hardware settings of the two EN2000N network adapters do not conflict. Suggestion: Run EasySet utility to view the I/O base address and interrupt level of the first network adapter. Replace with the second network adapter. Run EasySet utility to change the hardware settings of the second network adapter so that they do not conflict with the first network adapter's. Save the configuration. Now, you can install both network adapters in your system. 2. Run SERVER.EXE. 3. At the NetWare 386's prompt, type: : LOAD EN2NW4 If the I/O port of the two adapters are 300h and 320h, then your screen will display the following messages when you load the server driver. Loading module EN2NW4.LAN Supported I/O port values are : 300, 320 I/O port : 300 The I/O ports of the two adapters are AUTOMATICALLY detected by the server driver. 4. To load the server driver again, type : LOAD EN2NW4 The screen will display the following messages: Do you want to add another frame type for a previously loaded board? Loading module EN2NW4.LAN Supported I/O port values are : 320 I/O port : 320 Previously loaded module was used re-entrantly. 5. Bind IPX to both network adapters.
