Install Novell NetWare v3.1x operating system into your server station hard disk. 2. Copy the server driver, EN2NW3.LAN, from the driver diskette into the NetWare v3.1x server station hard disk. For example, type C:\SERVER> COPY A:\NW.311\EN2NW3.LAN 3. Run SERVER.EXE on the NetWare v3.1x server station. 4. At the NetWare 386 prompt, type: : LOAD C:EN2NW3 When you load the server driver, your screen displays messages similar to the ones below. Loading module EN2NW3.LAN Supported I/O port values are:300,240,280,2C0,320,340,360, I/O port : 280 Supported interrupt number values are 2,3,4,5,A,B Interrupt number : A The values that appear at the "I/O Port" and "Interrupt number" prompts are the hardware settings which have been AUTOMATICALLY detected by the server driver. You need only to press to accept these values. Should you wish to CHANGE the hardware configuration, then you may type in other valid options when prompted for "I/O Port" and "Interrupt number." 5. Bind IPX to the server driver by typing: : BIND IPX EN2NW3 (2) COMMAND LINE OPTIONS Apart from the standard command line options of PORT, INT, FRAME, etc, the server driver also provides an additional command line option. CABLE Valid cable types are: (1) BNC (Thin Ethernet) (2) TPI (Twisted-pair) This option is used to change the cable type of your network adapter. If the cable type is not specified, the preset cable type on your adapter is effective. You may specify the cable type when loading the server driver, for example: : LOAD EN2NW3 CABLE=BNC NOTE for EN2000N-Combo3: To use the AUI port, jumper pins J3 and J4 MUST be shorted by a jumper and at the same time the adapter must be programmed to BNC mode (either via the Easyset program or command line : LOAD EN2NW3 CABLE=BNC). (3) INSTALLING MULTIPLE ADAPTERS The following steps describe the method of installing two network adapters: 1. Make sure that the hardware settings of the two EN2000N network adapters do not conflict. Suggestion: Run the EasySet configuration program to view the I/O base address and interrupt level of the first network adapter. Replace with the second network adapter. Run EasySet to change the hardware settings of the second network adapter so that they do not conflict with the first network adapter. Save the configuration. Now you can install both network adapters together in your system. 2. Run SERVER.EXE. 3. At the NetWare 386's prompt, type: : LOAD EN2NW3 If the I/O port of the two adapters are 300h and 320h, then your screen displays the following messages when you load the server driver. Loading module EN2NW3.LAN Supported I/O port values are : 300, 320 I/O port : 300 The I/O ports of the two adapters are AUTOMATICALLY detected by the server driver. 4. To load the server driver again, type: : LOAD EN2NW3 The screen displays the following messages: Do you want to add another frame type for a previously loaded board? Loading module EN2NW3.LAN Supported I/O port values are : 320 I/O port : 320 Previously loaded module was used re-entrantly. 5. Bind IPX to both the network adapters.
