NDIS Driver Installation on Windows 95 -------------------------------------- 1. Plug CN100TX(E) adapter into one of the Master PCI slots of your PCI platform. 2. Turn power on then boot from Windows 95. 3. Windows 95 will find and bind the DECchip 21x43 driver supported by itself, then configure your network environment. 4. The system restart automatically. 5. Windows 95 will prompt with PCI Ethernet Controller in New Hardware Found dialog box. 6. Select "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer" from New Hardware Found dialog box, then click OK button. 7. Insert the CN100TX Driver Diskette in your floppy drive. 8. Enter the driver pathname, i.e. A:\ (or B:\), then click the OK button in the Install from Disk dialog box. 9. Follow screen instructions to complete the process. 10. Restart your computer. B) Configure NDIS 3.1 driver to the Windows 95 1. Click the "My Computer" icon in the Main Program Group. 2. Click the "Control Panel" icon in My Computer window. 3. Connection Type (32-bit driver): for CN100TX(E) adapter ; Default is AutoSense 100BaseTx 100BaseTx Full_Duplex 10BaseT 10BaseT Full_Duplex AutoSense <3>. Connection Type (16-bit driver): (This argument will be put in MAC driver section in PROTOCOL.INI) Auto Detection ; Default is Auto Detection Twisted Pair TP Full Duplex <4>. Receive Buffers : 8, 16, 32, 48, 64. default is 16. <5>. Map Registers : 4, 8, default is 8. This parameter depends on the specific machine, for x86, the value is 8. <6>. Store And Forward : Enabled --> Enable early transmit, Disabled--> Disable early transmit, default is Disabled. <7>. Transmit Threshold : the transmit FIFO threshold level when Store and Forward is disabled. 10Mbps: 72, 96, 128, 160 bytes, 100Mbps: 128, 256, 512, 1024 bytes, default is 160 or 1024 bytes. <8>. Data Rate-16 bit driver: the line speed of CN100TX(E) adapter, Valid data: 10Mbps, 100Mbps, default is 100Mbps. 7. Follow screen instructions to complete the process. 8. Restart your computer.
