Prepare a formatted NON-bootable diskette. You can have the diskette by putting a blank diskette to floppy drive A:, then, in DOS prompt, type: C>format a: 2. De-compress the packed file, etfdrv.tar, in \SCO-UNIX directory. a. Boot the SCO-UNIX and enter the Maintenance mode (press Control-d key to single-user mode). b. Change to \tmp directory by typing "cd /tmp". c. Insert the release diskette (this diskette) in a proper floppy drive, i.e. drive A:. d. Copy the packed tar file to the /tmp directory by typing "doscp a:/sco-unix/etfdrv.tar etftar". e. Remove the release diskette and insert the "formatted NON-bootable" diskette, prepared by step 1, to the floppy drive. f. Type "dd if=etftar of=/dev/rfd0135ds18" to transform the tar file to the "formatted NON-bootable" diskette for later installations. (Note: Use another device file name if you use a different floppy drive.) g. Now the diskette with the transformed files is ready for installations. 3. This section describes the installation of the driver. It is suggested that you should follow these steps in the singler-user environment (maintenance mode). a. Run "custom" command, select the "Software" menu, and select the "Install New..." item. Select "From scosysv", and click "Continue" button. Then, select "Floppy Disk Drive 0", and click "Continue" button. It will prompt you "PRO120(A) PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter Driver (version 1.x.x)" and choose a "FULL" option to install this package. The driver is included in the system. Furthermore, you need to run "netconfig" command to bind network protocols to the driver, described in the step 4. 4.
