*** Installing the NetWare server 4.x Driver *** ================================================ Use the LOAD and BIND commands to load the NetWare 4.x server driver as described below. For more information on these commands, refer to the "NetWare 4.x LAN driver installation documentation". The procedures are following: 1. Install NetWare 4.x on your system. 2. Copy all the files from 4.x server directory of the Driver Diskette to the hard disk directory ( for example, C: ) where the NetWare 4.x system files are located. The path on the Driver Diskette should be as follows: A:\NOVELL\SERVER\4.x 3. Boot NetWare by executing SERVER.EXE. Refer to NetWare documentation on loading disk drivers and mounting volumes. 4. To load the driver manually. simply follow the instructions given below. :LOAD C:PCNTNW FRAME=Ethernet_802.3 board=1 :BIND IPX TO PCNTNW NET=xxxx The installation for Novell NetWare server 4.x is now completed. ** NOTE: ** Multiple FRAME type support To load multiple frame type for one physical PCI LAN board, the following should be entered: :LOAD C:PCNTNW FRAME=Ethernet_802.2 board=1 :LOAD C:PCNTNW FRAME=Ethernet_802.3 board=1 :LOAD C:PCNTNW FRAME=Ethernet_SNAP board=1 :LOAD C:PCNTNW FRAME=Ethernet_II board=1 Finally, the driver must be binded to the IPX protocol to each frame type. Please note that if memory is low to support mulitiple frames, the buffer size must be increased in the STARTUP.NCF in NetWare. For example, the SET RESERVED BUFFERS below 16 Meg should be set to 32 from the default setting of 16. The correct syntax is the following: Set Reserved Buffers below 16 Meg=32
